Honor of Kings gets new jungler hero Augran

MOBA fans will get a new Honor of Kings hero to try out today. The new fighter, Augran, brings a fresh face to the battlefield, along with a new competitive feature that’s sure to get players’ adrenaline pumping.

Meet Augran, the Seer of the Misty Marshes

This mysterious character brings a unique set of abilities to the game, blending physical and magical damage. Augran can summon enemy spirits to do his bidding and even ignore terrain to zip around the map.

Watch Augran in action:

A quick rundown of his abilities:

  • Soul Resonance (Passive): Augran’s basic attacks create soul chains that deal increasing damage over time.
  • Path of Passing (First skill): Creates a speedy path that ignores terrain and can instantly take out low-health enemies.
  • Death’s Precipice (Second skill): A damaging swing attack that creates a “Life-Death Border” that marks enemies who touch it. If Augran attacks a marked enemy, he will deal damage to all marked targets in range, while getting healed for a portion of the damage dealt.
  • Conductor of Souls (Ultimate): Augran can descend from the sky, knocking back enemies. If an enemy is hit, Augran will restore some of his health and create a spirit to assist him. For a period of time after casting Ultimate, Augran’s basic attack will execute enemy heroes below a certain threshold.

Augran is best suited for the jungler role. Players will get to try him out on July 25, and get him permanently in their rosters by logging in between July 27 – 28.

New Championship feature and a Quality of Life improvement

With the latest update, Honor of Kings introduces a new Championship feature. This will allow teams to register for weekly Saturday matches, allowing them to climb their national leaderboards.

The game is also offering players who do well a way to share some of their privileges with friends. For example, players who are top-ranked in their countries, or who have reached the Grandmaster rank, for instance, are able to share in-game rewards with up to five friends. This includes bonus experience for all heroes, Arcana fragments and skins, and provides a great way to give friend squads a boost on the battlefield.

The game’s latest update will offer hero recommendations during setup. Heroes will be categorized by difficulty from Easy to Very Hard, so players can choose based on their skill level or how much of a challenge they’re up for.

These updates follow Honor of Kings’ latest milestone, recently crossing the 50 million download mark on its global version within the first month of launch.
