Following V Rising‘s successful full release on Steam and PlayStation 5 launch, Stunlock Studios has been carefully reviewing player feedback and planning their next major content update.
In their latest dev blog, “Whispers of Darkness,” the team has unveiled their big plans for V Rising‘s Version 1.1 update, which aims to expand the vampire survival experience while maintaining its core gameplay elements.
New crafting system: The Fusion Forge
Following player feedback on random drops and legendary items, Stunlock is introducing the “Fusion Forge,” a late-game crafting station that allows players to combine different items to create their ideal gear.
This system aims to balance the excitement of random drops with player agency, letting vampires fuse together items to get their preferred stats and abilities. The update will also introduce visually distinct appearances for endgame weapons, giving them a more authentic artifact feel.
Risk-free PvP
Two new PvP features are being implemented to allow consequence-free combat:
Dueling: Players can challenge other vampires to combat anywhere in the world (except POIs). These duels reset participants’ health after completion and don’t impact gear durability.
Arena system: A more structured PvP experience where players can build dedicated arena stations in their castles. The system includes team assignments, customizable parameters, and organized competitions without the risk of permanent death or gear loss.
Expanding Vardoran
The update will introduce an entirely new region north of Silverlight, bringing with it:
- A fresh faction of enemies with unique combat mechanics
- New V Blood bosses guarding ancient technologies
- A formidable “Shardbearer” boss battle
- Additional legendary item recipes
- A new devastating shard power to unlock
The development team has kept some features under wraps, promising more reveals as development continues.
