Honor of Kings‘ newest hero Yi Xing made his debut in Tuesday’s episode of Secret Level, Tim Miller’s new animated anthology series on Amazon Prime Video. Each of the episodes is a celebration of games and gamers.
Miller, the creator of the critically acclaimed anthology LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS, also directed movies such as Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate.
The new Honor of Kings episode, “The Way Of All Things,” tells the story of Yi Xing’s journey from learning Weiqi (also known as Go) to using his mastery of the ancient board game to win the most important match of his life and save the city of Chang’an.
The Secret Level team created the episode using a Chinese animation style that reflects the game’s cultural heritage, visible particularly during the Weiqi gameplay sequences.

With Yi Xing joining the Honor of Kings roster, players can now try Yi Xing for themselves in the world’s biggest MOBA.
Yi Xing is a Mage who excels at roaming the mid-lane and providing support in team fights, and pairs very effectively in particular with Lu Bu, delivering high-impact attacks on enemies.
Yi Xing’s abilities at a glance:
- Kiai: Passive ability where Yi Xing periodically becomes immune to lethal damage. His skills apply “Anti-Qi” marks on enemy heroes , enhancing his abilities.
- Joseki: Places a Weiqi counter at a designated location, granting vision of the area for three seconds and dealing magic damage.
- Atari: Deals magic damage to a designated area, then spreads to form a Weiqi formation. Enemies within the central area are pulled toward the center, dealing additional magic damage.
- Capture: Yi Xing creates an empty Weiqi board to trap enemy heroes.
